Dr. Kingsley Uchenna Onyemere

Dr. Kingsley Uchenna Onyemere is a distinguished Consultant Endocrinologist and Clinical Assistant Professor in the Department of Medicine at the University of Illinois. With a robust background in medicine and public health, Dr. Onyemere holds an MBBS from the College of Medicine at the University of Ibadan and an MPH from the School of Public Health at the University of Illinois Chicago.

Dr. Onyemere’s extensive clinical experience spans multiple continents. He began his career as a Medical Officer at St. Luke’s Hospital in Lagos, Nigeria, from August 1989 to September 1991, before serving as a Senior Medical Officer at Ahmadiyya Mission Hospital in Lagos until December 1996. He furthered his medical training in the United States as a House Physician at St. Joseph Hospital in Chicago, Illinois, from July 2003 to June 2004.

In academia, Dr. Onyemere served as a Lecturer and Research Fellow in the Division of Metabolism and Endocrinology at the University of Michigan Hospitals. Since 2007, he has been both a Staff Endocrinologist at Carle Clinic Association in Urbana, Illinois, and a Clinical Assistant Professor at the University of Illinois.

He is board-certified in Internal Medicine and Endocrinology, with certifications earned in November 2004 and November 2006, respectively. His exemplary work has been recognized through several awards, including the Loretta Pratt Lacey Award from the University of Illinois Chicago and the Endocrine Fellows Foundation Award in 2006.

Dr. Onyemere is an active member of prominent medical societies such as the American Medical Association, the American College of Physicians, the American Association of Clinical Endocrinologists, and the Endocrine Society. He has published extensively in international journals, contributed numerous abstracts, and delivered lectures at a range of professional gatherings.

Dr. Onyemere is married and a proud father of three children, balancing a successful career in both clinical and academic medicine with a fulfilling family life.
